Weather
The cabin is located at an elevation of about 2,000 feet, surrounded by
higher mountain peaks. The mountain weather in this location changes often and
rapidly.
Summer:
Summers are cool to warm. Highs can reach into the mid-80's in July and
August, sometimes reaching the 90's. It is always cool in the evenings and
mornings. The temperature drops substantially in the evenings into the
high 50's or low 60's.
Winter:
Winter temperatures can drop into the 20's in the evenings, often warming
into the high 50's or low 60's in the afternoons. There are about 5 snow days a
year. Snow rarely lasts more than a day. Evening and afternoon flurries can
occur more often. It is not uncommon to go out in shirt sleeves and find
yourself in snow flurries later in the afternoon and vice versa.
The leaves change, a fire in the fireplace
and crisp mountain air. This is our favorite time of the year.
Perfect for a family holiday retreat.
